DOPO

DOPO was inspired by my father’s diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease. The film’s intent is to spread awareness and understanding of this chronic illness and how it affects those living with the disorder. It allowed me to better understand what my father is going through and process his diagnosis and how it affects me and my family.

Being the first film I ever created, I worked over 200 hours to familiarize myself with Dragon Frame, lighting, editing, and the intense attention to detail required in pre-production for stop motion animation.

My high school film teacher entrusted me with all the equipment necessary, including a computer, camera, and lighting. He also provided mentorship and guidance which gave me the confidence to dedicate myself to a longer form project than what I was used to. Shout out to Mr. Day.
